Lab Notes
Hi Dear Reader,

The last several weeks have been overwhelming and disheartening, but at times encouraging. COVID-19 has drastically changed many aspects of our day to day lives, and while this has been undeniably clear for some time, others are awakening to the systemic racial injustice in this country. Many, including us, are outraged at the lives that have been lost and the inhumane systems that further oppression in this country. All of us have been challenged to reflect on our role moving forward and the changes we must make as both individuals and as organizations that aim to create impact and serve our communities.

In President Obama’s speech on George Floyd's death & protests he said, “In some ways, as tragic as these past few weeks have been, as difficult and scary and uncertain as they’ve been, they’ve also been an incredible opportunity for people to be awakened to some of these underlying trends. They offer an opportunity for us to all work together to tackle them, to take them on, to change America and make it live up to its highest ideals.” We must continue to pay attention when injustice happens and work together to combat it for the long haul.

At ResultsLab, we have started by committing to several new actions to stand against racism and injustice, particularly in the social sector. I’m happy to share more on that and I welcome a deeper conversation if you are interested. We are also offering two opportunities to support nonprofits during this time where community’s needs, and perhaps the communities themselves, are growing and changing. One is our online course, Emerging with Clarity. It's designed to teach new skills and help nonprofits move forward into new applications of data. Additional course details are noted below. The second offering is a more intensive Mastermind for Redesign. More to come on the Mastermind soon – in the meantime, please reach out to me with questions if you are interested.

And as we move to action, we offer a number of tools and resources below. While not all are design and data focused, all are highly relevant to inform your actions.
